Race For The Cure
Thanks to all of our volunteers: Christi Grant, Laura Bugg, Diane Hickey, Emmalyn Fuller, Julie Martin, Julie Lawson, Lynette Pierce, Dana Richardson, Beth Martin, Lindsey Gysin, Donna Lowe and Kim Rice (race radio communications chair) . A special thanks to Christi Grant for chairing the Survivors Tent for the race! We had a great time getting to know each other better while we worked in the Survivors area. Volunteers handed out pink caps and buttons to the survivors, and helped race participants pin on the In Celebration Of/In Memory Of tags. It was a touching experience seeing and talking with all of those affected by breast cancer. If you havent attended a Komen Race for the Cure, put it on your calendar for next year. The Atlanta Race is typically held on the last Saturday of October each year. Its an experience you wont soon forget!
Did You Know...
...takes the lives of more than 44,300 women each year...
is the leading cause of death among women between 35-54
...184,300 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer annually
Dont Be A Fool... Dont Forget to Perform
The Atlanta Board of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation needs ZETA board members. Its imperative for ZETA to maintain a leadership role to plan the annual survivors tea and the survivors tent at the race. Please contact Carolyn Hester at 404-636-1066 or Donna Lowe at 770-590-9903.

Kathy Jolley from Spa Sydell Perimeter enlightened us on the benefits of aromatherapy. She defined the different essential oils that are used and recommended different recipes to help treat any physical or mental problems were experiencing. If you are interested in experimenting with the different oils and mixing up some of your own potions, Kathy recommended purchasing abook on aromatherapy that includes different recipes that are tried and true. This way you would avoid wasting oils, which are, in some cases, very expensive. At the end of her presentation, Kathy gave away some great door prizes. Thanks Beth for arranging this terrific presentation!
After the aromatherapy presentation, we celebrated founders day with our annual founders day ritual. It was nice to renew memories of our founders and to review the creed, reminding you of the way you should strive to live your life!
Thanks go out to Julie Lawson for hosting last months party!
